Dermaroller is a fairly new treatment based on concept of controlled skin wounding. Multiple tiny superficial skin wounds are created after the skin is rolled over with dermaroller. There will be some pin point bleeding and redness on the skin immediately after the treatment. These will usually go away within 1-2 days. The skin will usually feel quite smooth and supple after the treatment. It can be used to treat some irregular skin tone and mild wrinkles. Some people with acne scars have also been treated with this. However, the treatment may need to be repeated for a couple of times at 2-3 monthly intervals. Conceptually, this is very similar to the high tech Fraxel treatment which make use of laser system to create tiny wounds on the skin to stimulate collagen formation via wound healing. Hope this helps. Cheers.
dermaroller really works for acne.
i’ve had acne for years and tried many products including proactive. nothing really works, until my dermatologist introduced dermaroller treatment to me. its completely safe as long as following direction when using and cleaning the roller.
Ps Don’t buy the ones on dermaroller websites, because they usually only sell < than 0.5mm needle length ones, only penetrate the epidermis, which don’t really work. Go to ebay, i bought a 1.0mm from this seller
